Are you passionate about urban forest management, stakeholder engagement in urban forestry projects, sustainable cities and communication and engagement tools? We’re inviting PhD candidates, postdocs, practitioners and cost members to join a unique and hands-on training school dedicated to different aspects of Stakeholder Involvement in Urban Forestry. This training school is an event from our COST CA23148 Action and is highly relevant, irrespective of the practices of a certain country or countries.
This training school is a unique opportunity to:
- Get an understanding of stakeholder dynamics and communication in urban forestry
- Acquire practical knowledge about public participation in urban forestry project
- Obtain knowledge on communication and engagement tools
- Work alongside leading and passionate early-career researchers and practitioners in an interactive and supportive environment.
- Encourage open exchange and discussion between students and trainers, creating a rich space for learning, mentorship, and shared insight.
We welcome applicants with interests or expertise in:
- Green infrastructure /urban forest management and planning
- Urban forest ecosystem services
- Geography and landscape planning
- Community engagement
How to Apply:
We have 20 places available for this training school. 8 selected participants from COST countries will receive reimbursement for travel and accommodation.
Each applicant is requested to include in the application:
- a short motivation letter
- and a one-page CV
Deadlines February 20, 2026.
The organising committee will use this information to shortlist which candidates will be accepted. Decisions on participation will be communicated by the end of February 2026.
