2nd Open Call for Virtual Mobility Grants 2026
COST Action “Urban Forestry Network” (INTUF) launches an open call for 4 Virtual Mobility Grants (VMGs). The call is open for anyone with expertise in the field of urban forestry, especially for members that are actively participating in the INTUF Action to conduct a project beneficial to the different tasks and working groups (see proposed topics below).
The call opens on August 20st, 2026, and the application period closes on September 10th, 2026. Decision will be notified by September 11th , 2026.
How to apply
Applications for a VMG need to be sent via the e-cost portal https://e-services.cost.eu/activity/grants
Applicants must have or create an e-COST profile.
In the grants page, make sure to select the option VMG and later the INTUF project with the code CA 23148.
Reporting
Once the activity has ended, the grantee must submit the required reports and relevant documentation in e-COST within 30 days after the end date of the activity or 15 days after the end of the Grant Period, whichever date comes first (30th October the latest). The grant payment will be executed after the approval of the report by the Grant Awarding Coordinators and the Leader(s) of the VMG.

TOPIC 1 (Supports WG2-T4): Harmonising content and structure for interview of municipalities.
Focus: support WG2 in interviews/focus groups in the Mediterranean Europe Region; coordinate translations of interview script and results with other COST members, as required; prepare structured and anonymised descriptive outputs (response summaries, basic statistics) for collective interpretation by WG2.

TOPIC 3 (Supports WG4 – Governance, Society & Participation / Science Communication): Voices from the Forest – INTUF podcast
Focus: Develop and produce the pilot of the INTUF podcast “Voices from the Forest”: finalise the format and question framework (draft ready), record 2–3 pilot episodes with guests from across the network, publish them through the Action’s communication channels, and deliver a short production template so the series can continue beyond the grant.
