Working Group 1

Meet the Working Group 1

Assessing and monitoring the urban forest

The working group will identify relevant indicators and methods to assess the quality and the functioning of urban forests, which will shape the UFI. As previously described in 1.2.1, these indicators should capture the regulating, cultural, supporting and provision ecosystem services of the urban forest. During this process, the working group will strive towards uniformity and harmonization across EU countries, and – where possible – define goals (benchmarking or baseline) for the different indicators in the framework of the sustainable development goals (SDGs).
