Meet the Working Group 3
Stewardship: building cross-sectoral and inclusive management partnerships
Maximize the ecosystem services offered by urban trees, by matching regulating and producing services with socioeconomic and cultural services (as assessed by the UFI).
WG3 will seek for internalizing processes that involve public value prioritization, people engagement in management or decision-making, and citizen stewardship, which lead to increase not merely the participatory aspect of urban forestry management but also ensure urban tree survival.
Effective stewardship should include different communication levels: one-way communication (e.g. capacity building, educational materials and guidelines), two-way dialogue between involved stakeholders, and active community involvement like collaborative decision-making processes, citizen science, foster parenting, guarding etc.
